WHAT WE BELIEVE

 Confession of Faith

We believe in the verbal inspiration and authority of the Scriptures. We believe that the Bible reveals God, the fall of man, the way of salvation, and God’s plan and purpose in the ages (II Tim. 3:16; II Pet. 1:20,21).

There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver and Ruler of the universe.  God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections.  To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience.  The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself the demands and necessities of human nature and identifying Himself completely with mankind, yet without sin (John 1:1-14).  Jesus Christ never ceased being God.

We believe that man was created in the image of God but because of Adam’s transgression, the whole human race fell. All men everywhere are sinners, both by nature and by choice.

We believe that salvation is “by grace” plus nothing and minus nothing. “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9. Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.  In its broadest sense, salvation includes regeneration, sanctification and glorification (Hebrews 9:14 & 22).
